cut lemons and limes in half

cut flowers from stem so you only have the flower head

stack the halved fruits and the flower in a pleasing way - no "innards" of the fruit should face inwards, each slice side should face a wall of the vase.  each vase should show at least one fruit innard.

layer the flowers sideways and horizontally.  what looks good between the shapes of the fruit and fills in without getting too heavy will work.

fill with water AFTER all this.  if you do it before and put the lemons and limes it muddles the water.

put candles in.  limes float - lemons sink.  so limes will push and move the candles, lemons won't.  you may have to move a few things around.

note: use real flowers in end, but do a trial with some cheapie joann flowers like what you want to use first.  we're not using the big one anymore - it's too distracting.
